Interfaith Prayer and Candlelight Vigil at Siddhashram Pays Tribute to Victims of the Air India Crash

London, 14 June 2025 — In a moving display of unity and compassion, a solemn Interfaith Prayer and Candlelight Vigil was held at the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre in Harrow on Saturday, 14 June. The gathering honoured the victims of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad that took place just two days prior, claiming many lives and leaving a deep scar, particularly on the Gujarati community. Earlier on the day of this tragic incident, 12 June, a prayer ceremony was held at Siddhasharam.

Organised with profound sensitivity by Guruji, spiritual leader of the Siddhashram Centre, in partnership with Harrow Interfaith  (HIF), the event brought together representatives from Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Jain, Jewish and Zoroastrian communities, united in prayer and remembrance. The Siddhashram Centre, described as “an oasis of comfort and support for our whole community,” opened its doors to all, with faith leaders, dignitaries, community members, and children participating in a shared moment of grief, resilience, and healing.

Siddhashram will always be a sanctuary where hearts unite, regardless of faith or background. In sorrow, we come together — not just as a community, but as one family.”

Guruji also joined children and fellow faith leaders in lighting candles and leading chants for peace, setting the tone for the heartfelt gathering.
