HH Rajrajeshwar Guruji Graces the Mayoral Ceremony of Cllr Anjana Patel

London, 15 May 2025 – A momentous and emotionally charged occasion unfolded at the Annual Meeting of the Council of the London Borough of Harrow, as His Holiness Rajrajeshwar Guruji specially graced the Mayoral Making Ceremony of Cllr Anjana Patel, who was officially sworn in as the new Mayor of Harrow.

The event marked a significant milestone in Harrow’s civic calendar, drawing a large and diverse gathering from across the borough and beyond. It not only set a new benchmark in community participation but also radiated a deep sense of cultural pride, unity, and interfaith harmony.

One of the most touching highlights of the ceremony occurred as the Mayor’s Procession returned to the Council Chamber. Clad in her ceremonial robes, adorned with the Mayoral Chain and Medallion of Office, the newly elected Mayor, Cllr Anjana Patel, paused her formal duties to approach her mother seated in the guest row, and in a profoundly moving gesture, bowed to touch her feet in reverence. The scene drew tears and heartfelt applause, embodying the values of humility, family, and respect that define her leadership.

His Holiness Rajrajeshwar Guruji, the spiritual head of International Siddhashram UK — headquartered in Harrow — honoured the ceremony with his presence, underlining the spiritual and cultural roots deeply embedded in the borough. Cllr Patel expressed her gratitude to Guruji, recounting how her recent pilgrimage to the Maha Kumbh in India, attended by an estimated 660 million people, was made possible only through his divine guidance and blessings. From seamless arrangements amid the massive crowds, to the sacred Shahi Snan at the holy Sangam, and a visit to the revered Ram Temple in Ayodhya, every moment was made possible due to Guruji’s support.

At the event, HH Guruji remarked, “Harrow is a vibrant example of unity in diversity. Strengthening interfaith bonds and fostering mutual respect will further nourish the social fabric of this borough.” His words received warm appreciation from attendees across all communities, faiths, and age groups.

This ceremonial gathering not only celebrated the investiture of a new Mayor, but also showcased the spirit of Harrow, a borough where tradition meets modernity, where diversity is not just acknowledged but embraced, and where spiritual values and public service go hand in hand. – Reporter –Mahesh Liloriya.
