The International Siddhashram Shakti Centre UK hosted a landmark and thought-provoking event at the Siddhashram Community Hub, Harrow, featuring the international screening of the world’s first documentary dedicated to the movement for Paid Period Leave. The documentary, based on the true-life journey of Ms. Ranjeeta Priyadarshini, was screened publicly for the first time before a distinguished audience of spiritual leaders, policymakers, community representatives, and social advocates.

The documentary, directed by Pradeep Kumar Nayak, chronicles the inspiring journey of Ms. Ranjeeta Priyadarshini, Founder of the Global Campaign for Paid Period Leave, whose advocacy has sparked an international movement calling for one or two days of paid menstrual leave for working women and greater recognition of menstrual wellbeing within workplaces and public policy.

The special gathering was graced by His Holiness Rajrajeshwar Guruji, Founder of the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre UK; Swami Abhiramacharya Ji Maharaj from Prayagraj; Mr Emmanuel from Paris; Padma Shri Kalpana Saroj, renowned Indian entrepreneur and social reformer; Cllr Krishna Suresh, Sasi Suresh, fellow councillors, community leaders and members of the wider public.

Special video messages supporting the campaign were delivered by Gareth Thomas MP and Krupesh Hirani AM, who praised the efforts to advance conversations around women’s health, dignity and equality.

Addressing the audience, Ms. Ranjeeta Priyadarshini reflected on her personal journey and the challenges she faced in bringing menstrual health and workplace equality into mainstream public discourse. She highlighted the growing international support for the movement and called for collective efforts to advance policy discussions on menstrual dignity and paid period leave in the United Kingdom.

Speaking on the occasion, His Holiness Rajrajeshwar Guruji emphasised that respect and reverence for women are deeply rooted in Sanatan Dharma. Referring to sacred scriptures and traditions, Guruji said that womanhood has always been recognised as a manifestation of Divine Shakti and that society flourishes when women are honoured and supported.
Citing the example of Maa Kamakhya Devi, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India, Guruji noted that the natural biological processes of women have long been regarded with dignity and spiritual significance. He urged society to approach menstrual health with greater understanding, compassion and respect. Guruji further announced that the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre UK stands firmly with Matru Shakti and will continue to support initiatives that promote women’s wellbeing, dignity and empowerment.

Swami Abhiramacharya Ji Maharaj praised the campaign as a noble humanitarian initiative and stated that a compassionate society must recognise the unique challenges faced by women and create supportive systems that uphold both dignity and equality.

The screening was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session during which participants discussed menstrual health, workplace inclusion, public awareness and policy development.

Devisha Patel welcomed the guests and outlined the vision for advancing the Paid Period Leave movement in Harrow. She expressed her commitment to leading by example, announcing that her organisation will implement paid period leave for its female employees.

The event was organised by the Mahesh LIlorya.
