Patron of International Siddhashram Shakti Centre Meets UK Prime Minister During Visit to Welwyn Garden City

siddhashram - uk The International Siddhashram Shakti Centre is pleased to share that its Patron, Cllr Pankit Shah, Former Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield, had the honour of welcoming and meeting the UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, during the Prime Minister’s visit to Panshanger Community Hall in Welwyn Garden City.

During the engagement, discussions centred on the continuing cost of living challenges experienced by local residents and the types of support required to assist families and vulnerable members of the community.

While seated alongside our Patron, the Prime Minister asked Cllr Shah to reflect on a key achievement from his Mayoral term. Cllr Shah highlighted with pride that he was the first Asian Hindu Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, and in recognition of the financial pressures facing residents at the time, he selected local Food Banks as his designated Mayoral charity.

Cllr Shah also highlighted further with pride, his current role as a Patron of the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre, a Sanatan temple in Harrow whose core mission is to promote the philosophy of humanity through the celebration of diverse religious and cultural events.

During his remarks at the event, the Prime Minister spoke about his commitment to serving the public and supporting communities across the country.
