Harrow Celebrates India’s 77th Republic Day in the UK with Patriotic Fervour.

The International Siddhashram Shakti Centre UK marked the 77th Republic Day of India with great pride and reverence at its Harrow premises, bringing together community leaders, dignitaries, interfaith representatives and members of the Indian diaspora to honour the values of the Indian Constitution and the spirit of the world’s largest democracy.
Aligned with the national theme “150 Years of Vande Mataram”, the celebration beautifully showcased India’s rich cultural heritage, unity in diversity and the enduring bond between Janmabhumi (India) and Karmabhumi (the United Kingdom).
The event commenced at 10:30 am with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag, followed by a soulful Vande Mataram presentation, setting a deeply patriotic tone for the day. Guests were formally welcomed and honoured, reflecting the Centre’s tradition of respect and inclusivity.
Message from HH Guruji
Although HH Guruji is currently in India attending important spiritual and national engagements, his presence was deeply felt through a heartfelt message shared on the occasion. Guruji emphasised that India’s strength lies in unity within ourselves, highlighting the responsibility of Indians across the world to remain connected to their roots while contributing positively to their adopted nations. He spoke of India as an emerging global power, guided by timeless spiritual values, cultural wisdom and constitutional principles.

Each speaker reflected on the significance of Republic Day, the relevance of constitutional values in today’s world, and the vital role played by the Indian diaspora in strengthening Indo-UK relations.
On behalf of Siddhashram, Sonoo Malkani warmly welcomed all guests and honoured them with traditional Khes, symbolising respect, gratitude and Indian cultural heritage.

The programme featured vibrant folk dances and patriotic presentations, with a powerful patriotic performance by Chittal Vyas and team, which received warm appreciation from the audience. The celebrations concluded with community food and fellowship, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and shared identity.
Among other notable attendees were Taz Khan, Mahendra Sinh Jadeja, Cllr Sasi Suresh, and several respected community members.
